Pixa Variant Swatches ("the App") is a Shopify application that provides customizable variant picker components for Shopify stores. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
When you install the App, we access the following data through the Shopify API:
Shop information: Your store name and Shopify domain, used to identify your account and provide the service.
Product data: Product names, variant options, and variant images, used to render variant swatches on your storefront.
Theme data: Installed theme names and roles, used to detect your theme and configure swatch display.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any customer personal data (names, emails, addresses, payment info).
We do not track customer browsing behavior or analytics.
We do not use cookies on your storefront.
3. How We Store Data
All app settings (picker rules, color library, styling preferences) are stored in Shopify Metafields on your shop and products. We do not use any external database to store your data. Session data required for authentication is stored securely and deleted when you uninstall the app.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information solely to:
Render variant swatches on your storefront
Apply your customization settings (picker types, colors, styles)
Detect your theme for optimal compatibility
Manage your subscription and billing through Shopify
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses Tawk.to for live chat support within the admin interface. Tawk.to may collect basic session information when you use the chat widget. You can review their privacy policy at tawk.to/privacy-policy.
Billing and payments are handled entirely by Shopify Billing API. We do not process or store any payment information.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your app settings are stored in Shopify Metafields and remain as long as the App is installed.
When you uninstall the App, your session data is automatically deleted.
You can delete all app data at any time from Settings > Reset All App Data.
48 hours after uninstallation, Shopify sends a shop/redact webhook and we delete any remaining data associated with your store.
7. GDPR Compliance
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We support:
Data access requests: You can request all data we hold about your store.
Data deletion requests: You can request deletion of all your data.
Customer data requests: Since we do not store customer personal data, these requests are acknowledged but no customer data needs to be provided or deleted.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or via Shopify notifications.
